New Years

So the new year has started out pretty well. Had a few drinks with some good friends last night and everyone got home safely. Had a "nothing" day scheduled and for once I got everything accomplished that I wanted to- have whole day of doing absolutely nothing. I think unplugging and relaxing without guilt is highly underrated. I think everyone would do well to slow down a bit.

My only New Year's resolution is to make sure all my stories have happy endings.

I do have some things I would like to work on this year. The perennial getting in shape, finish some house projects, getting less debt and more savings, growing a vegetable garden, cooking more meals at home, finding a job I really like, writing more including finishing a book, and just enjoying life.

Overall if I have had some good adventures, some fun, and am a slightly better person by 2011 then I'll be happy with this upcoming year.

I think part of my problem is that I want to do so much each day that I never feel good about what I do get accomplished. So more reasonable expectations may be in order. Maybe list 5 things to get finished a day- and go from there. Or should I make a list of things to do by category- health, family & friends, money and job, education, writing, house, yard and car, fun, spiritual, errands and chores. Try to accomplish something everyday and contributes to the goals in those categories.

May just have to experiment and see what works best.
